2021 APPLICATION DUE
Get your application in for the 2021 Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund! These funds are specifically targeted to Black growers in the cities of Detroit, Highland Park and Hamtramck to purchase land they are currently farming or plan to farm on. Funds may be used for land purchases as well as infrastructure or improvements.
FOR YOUR GARDEN
The purchase process in Detroit can be daunting. And for gardeners there are a few extra considerations to keep in mind including permitting, zoning, and following city ordinances. Our goal is to ensure that all Detroiters have the information they need to protect their gardens and become land secure!
Join DBFLF Co- Founder Erin PJ Bevel, professor, attorney and advocate, for an in-depth discussion on building restorative economies through continued support of the Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund. The Fund has thrived through grassroots financial donations but other modes of support - our LEAD co-conspirator Danielle Daguio, direct donations of land and equipment, land donations and other creative modes of support, are essential to bring about the ultimate goal - changing the Detroit urban farming landscape, for good. Lets discuss historical and legal context of the plight of Black Farmers, and creative ways in spite of that, that we can cultivate land access, food sovereignty, and ancestral justice.
